Let's Get Physical

Jogging @ SM MOA's grounds: We planned this.  We've been looking forward to this new activity for a week.  It was all because we needed a new activity to enjoy together and primarily, for health reasons.  The Nasnips are certified food and booze lover.  We enjoy a good laugh together.  Going to Enchanted Kingdom, having a quick road trip to Tagaytay and playing Bowling @ SM Mall of Asia's Bowling Alley are some of the best activities we get to do and enjoy together.  Now we wanted to step it up and would like to participate in a Fun Run.  It is indeed a bit ambitious but with proper discipline and will to do such a thing, I believe we can make it into reality.  Besides, Nasnips are not quitters.  And so we have to make it!  We thought if we could continue doing this for at least 3 more tries, we can register for a Fun Run (the shortest distance possible).  Oh yeah!  All excited for the next run/jog.

92nd and 64th - Celebrating Life

Mama's 64th Birthday Celebration

Lola's 92nd Birthday Celebration

Today is my grandmother and mother's birthday celebration.  Her 92nd and 64th, respectively.  Their exact birth date is still on the 18th of July but since it's a Monday...we decided to held it today.

Nasnips had found a new tambayan, under tha Acacia Tree.  We had fun talking everything and anything under the sun.  What makes it more enjoyable, the delicious spaghetti with meatballs by Mama.

Oh yeah!!! LIFE!!!

Thursday: Date with Harry Potter

A dose of Harry Potter for the very last time on the big screen.  Well, I can always watch the past movies at home because we have the complete set, except for the last two films that we still need to purchase.

IMAX was like a flea market when the lights are still on.  But when it was already dark and the screen lit up and the sounds began to play, the whole IMAX crowd roared with excitement and applauded.  It was a hair-raising experience!  And a very memorable one.

The film is indeed an unforgettable one.  It made us all laugh (spoiler alert!) because of Professor McGonagall's Locomotor Spell and many more comedic punchlines coming from the wizards.  It made us feel all the possible feelings a man can feel.  There is the pain of losing someone, the fear of dying and facing it wholeheartedly, the chance to live and prolonged life, the strength to battle your worst enemy, the courage to step up for your friend, and the love of the people who believe.

Number of times I cried???  Not sure, but I can name three scenes (in random order) that made me teary-eyed and made the hairs at the back of my neck stand-up.  One scene is when the Hogwarts Professors began their enchantments to protect the school grounds from the Death Eaters that made me cry. It made my visions blurry for a bit but that didn't stopped me from feeling their utmost effort to make a fortress of protective enchantments for Hogwarts.  Another is when all the Death Eaters and Voldemort's Army releases lights (a sort of magical spell) from their wands aiming the Hogwarts Castle.  Last and not the least is the final Epic Battle of Tom Riddle (with his last living soul) and Harry Potter (The boy who lived).

And when the film ended, IMAX roared once again.  The crowd cheered and applauded.  Some even whistled with delight.  It all made us happy...but sad too.

I guess my  last statement need no
further explanation. :)

Sick Leave

Head aches plus a hard pouring rain...I ended up not going to the office.  I declare sick leave.  And so with my spare time while I was awake in the morning, I cleaned up my room (which I share with my older sister) and brought the other DVD player in.

Now ready for movie marathon inside our bedroom...once again!

Let me be the trophy, Novak Djokovic.

Dear Nole,

Congratulations for winning the Wimbledon 2011 and for being the Number 1 Tennis Player in the world.  I knew you can do it!  I am hoping to see you in the U.S. Open and be the champion again.  I'll cheer for you all the way!

P.S.
     I am a Roger Fan too.  :)

I wish I was the Wimbledon Grand Slam 2011 Trophy.

With that sweet smile and brown eyes...even that trophy will melt. Aw!

This time, it's a hot coffee for me.

By the way, Congratulations to Petra Kvitovafor winning the 2011 Wimbledon.  At least I still get to see a new name holding the golden plaque for Wimbledon.  Tomorrow will be Men's Finals...this will be a very tough match.

Hooray for Novak!

Lisicki might have failed me, but Djokovic made me proud.

I was rooting for Roger Federer to win another Wimbledon Title this year.  But he failed!  It was Jo-Wilfried Tsonga that defeated him in an upsetting 5-sets match in the Quarter Finals.  I am not really not aginst Tsonga but when he got to cut Federer's Grand Slam win short, I want him to lose on his next round.  Good Thing he was up aginst Novak Djokovic (seed 2).  I like Novak ever since his name became a household name for Tennis.  Beating Tsonga makes him the new world's Number 1, which he says his ambition.  But winning a Wimbledon Grand Slam is his dream.  And so when he got defeat Tsonga in a 4-sets match (7-6/6-2/6-7/6-3), he is ready for the Finals.

This time, it'll be Djokovic vs. Nadal for the FINALS.
And hoping for another Novak win. :)

Thursday: When Lisicki Failed Me

Sabine Lisicki:  My new Tennis Star!

When Serena Williams was defeated by Marion Bartoli in the Wimbledon 4th Round, I got so affected.  And since then, I started rooting against her.  On the Quarter Finals, it was Sabine Lisicki versus Bartoli.  I cheered for Lisicki and liked her since, specially after beating Bartoli.  I know it will not be a Williams Battle for the Nth Time @ Wimbledon. But I am hoping that this  time, it will be for not familiar names.  And so when it's time for the Semi-Finals - it was Lisicki vs. Maria Sharapova.  I thought my new Tennis favorite can pull another outstanding game, but she had a hard time chasing all the balls by Sharapova.  And so Lisicki fell short and have to settle for the Semi-Finals.  She got defeated by Sharapova and my hopes of a Wimbledon Finals of new faces turned to be impossible this year.  Well, maybe next year. :)

Watch out for Sabine next year!
